Ummi Hafilda Srikandi Negara

At that time, Ummi Hafilda was a much younger lady. She came forward to become the main witness in the trial case of Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. At that time Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim was the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Ummi Hafilda was about to disclose all the secrets she has about the misbehaviors of Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Even Tun Dr Mahathir, who was at that time the Prime Minister of Malaysia did not believe what was about to be disclosed by Ummi Hafilda.

Due to her persistence, patients, and her believe, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim was finally sentenced to six years imprisonment. It was the trial of the year. Most newspapers of the world covered the trial case. Because of the trial, Ummi Hafilda’s name raised to fame.

Prior to the trial, she was only an ordinary young woman who was running her own business. In the seemingly naïve-looking young lady, lies the heart that is stronger than steel, lies the mind that is sharper than knives. Allah has used her to become the main witness in the most historic court case in Malaysia. Because she was the main witness in the court case, she had undergone untold sufferings and troubles. Paparazzi followed her and tried to cause trouble to her, yet she remained steadfast in her belief that Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim had committed a very serious crime.

She received many death threats and attempts to bribe her from her own brother. She had to move many times from one house to another house in different locations in a span of one year and her car was burned to ashes. At such a young age, Ummi Hafilda had undergone such troubles, only to prove to the court that Dato’ Seri Anwar had committed a grieve offence that finally led the court to sentence Dato’ Seri Anwar to six years imprisonment.

After years of silence and away from the limelight, once again Ummi Hafilda makes a comeback to the public attention when Dato’ Seri Anwar once again was brought to the trial. Ummi Hafilda has threatened to disclose all the secrets that she knows about the sodomy case trial that involved Dato’ Seri Anwar in 1998.

She wants the sodomy case trial to be presented to the young generation of today in the forms of videos and films. She believes in doing so, it will explain the sodomy case trial in a clearer and more accurate manner. She believes it is her responsibility to explain to the younger generation the reasons for her serious involvement in the Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy case.

Many are skeptical about her sincerity. Many are questioning her integrity. Some have accused her to be a prostitute while some had accused her to have been involved in love affairs with so many men, including Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. She believes the time has come to clear her names from the various allegations and she wants the truth of the story to be revealed to the public.

Ummi Hafilda must have been waiting for this precious moment to reveal the truth that only she knows. All this while, she must have been keeping all the true stories only to herself. Allah has gave her the time and the opportunity to reveal the true stories about what actually had happened in 1998 that finally lead to the dismissal and imprisonment of Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. CLICK!

It was really a tragic situation that no one can ever imagine to happen to Dato’ Seri Anwar. Dato’Seri Anwar had been dreaming to become the Prime Minister of Malaysia but the dream had turned to become a nightmare for Dato’ Seri Anwar, his family and friends. Who was instrumental in turning the dream to become a nightmare? The person was no other than the young naïve-looking girl by the name of Ummi Hafilda.

Thus, naturally, besides Tun Dr Mahathir, Ummi Hafilda has become one of the most hated persons by Dato’ Seri Anwar, his family members and his supporters. All the dreams of the followers of Dato’ Seri Anwar had shattered to ashes. The person who has been instrumental in the downfall of Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim was Ummi Hafilda. Naturally she is the most hated person in the life of Dato’ Seri Anwar, his family members and supporters.

Ummi Hafilda has no followers to support her in her struggle to achieve justice. She revealed about her lone struggle against the aggressions and the humiliations done to her by Dato’ Seri Anwar and his supporters. Many people love Dato’ Seri Anwar and supported him but none including UMNO members had supported Ummi Hafilda during her tribulations. Almost all PAS, Jemaah Tabligh and ABIM members and many others supported Dato’ Seri Anwar.
Many has supported Dato’ Seri Anwar because they think that Dato Seri Anwar is a true Islamic leader while Ummi Hafilda, by her outward appearance, appears unreligious and un-Islamic. Ummi Hafilda does not cover her hair while the wife and daughters of Dato’ Seri cover their hairs. Because of the outward unreligious appearance of Ummi Hafilda, many decided not to believe what she has said.

I have said in my previous articles, that Malays are very much into cosmetic and superficial appearance. Malays care more about appearance than reality. Malays have proverb which says; Biar Papa Asal Bergaya. A person who knows how to look rich, pious or religious can easily deceive the Malays. Jemaah Al-Arqam and Tabligh have been successful in influencing the Malays to join them because they have been good at showing pious outward appearances through their clothing and minor Islamic practices. When peoples observe them wearing Islamic attires and giving great attention to minor Islamic practices, then they think that these people must be giving much more attention to greater Islamic practices.

Looking at the outward appearance of Ummi Hafilda, many Malays will jump to the conclusion that Ummi Hafilda and Tun Dr Mahathir are unreligious persons because they do not appear pious outwardly especially through their attires. The action of Ummi Hafilda to bring Dato’ Seri Anwar to the court was looked upon by many Malays as the action of an unreligious person.

Many Malays jeered at her and they regarded all the evidences that she had thrown against Dato’ Seri Anwar was a perjury and falsehood. Many Malays believe the words of Dato’ Seri Anwar more than the words of Ummi Hafilda because Dato’ Seri Anwar look more religious than Ummi Hafilda. When Dato’ Seri Anwar gave speeches, it was accompanied with verses of the Quran and the Hadis of Prophet Muhammad saw.

Who could have believed such horrendous actions such as sodomy could have been done by Dato’ Seri Anwar who appears to be so knowledgeable about Islam.

Can Ummi Hafilda and Tun Dr Mahathir match the pious appearance of Dato Seri Anwar? Certainly cannot. Many people can be easily deceived by outward appearance. The first order of Allah upon Muslims is not to change the outward appearance but to invite people to recite the Great Kalimah and the second order is to perform the five times daily prayer.

To invite people to recite the Great Kalimah is also the work of inviting people to good and forbidding people from evils. The greatest evil that Dato’ Seri Anwar does is not doing the work of inviting people to good and forbidding the evils. Instead of forbidding the evils, Dato’ Seri Anwar himself is involved in evils deed.

As a Deputy Prime Minister, the evils deeds that Dato Seri Anwar do could affect a great circle but had he become the Prime Minister, the evils deed will affect a much greater circle. Ummi Hafilda and Tun Dr Mahathir have the courage and the bravery to prevent the evil deeds from spreading by preventing Dato’ Seri Anwar from becoming the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Ummi Hafilda and Tun Dr Mahathir was not able to stop Dato’ Seri Anwar from committing the evil deeds but they were successful in preventing the evil deeds from spreading to a wider circle by preventing Dato’ Seri Anwar from becoming the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

What Ummi Hafilda had done was highly courageous. She tried to stop someone powerful from becoming more powerful. Indeed the work needs courage and Ummi Hafilda has been instrumental in carrying-out the great task. With the help of Allah, she did it marvelously.

Ummi Hafilda has been the mean to the downfall of Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. She described herself as Srikandi and that title fit her. During the great trial, Ummi Hafilda has continuously sought the help of Allah. She did mention in her articles that she used to wake up at 4am in the early morning, to pray Tahajjud.

This story reveals the fact that, although Ummi Hafilda is not wearing a tudung but she guards her prayers and she struggled to stop evils from spreading. The order of inviting people to good and forbidding the evils and the order of performing five times prayers relatively are greater orders of Allah compared to the order of covering the hair or wearing a tudung.

Although the order of wearing a tudung is relatively a smaller order of Allah but to most Muslims, it is a great order and a sign of religiousness. Many Muslims believe that the order of wearing tudung is greater than the order of forbidding the evils and performing daily prayers.

Many Muslims think and believe that a person who is wearing tudung is a religious person even though she may not be performing prayers and is constantly doing evils. On the other hand many Muslims think and believe that a person like Ummi Hafilda, who is doing the work of preventing the evils from spreading and performing five times daily prayers but is not wearing tudung as unreligious.

Because Ummi Hafilda is not wearing a tudung, many think of her as not religious and they decided not to believe whatever she said and they called her with so many bad names. Wearing a tudung but do not perform daily prayers and do not forbid evils is not a sign of piety. Inviting people to good and forbidding people from evils and performing five times prayers are signs of piety. Wearing tudung is relatively a smaller order of Allah and many can easily wear a tudung but not everybody can do the things that Ummi Hafilda has done. May Allah Showers His blessings upon her.
